- Dan Grossman started this
practice in 1982. He was admitted to practice law in Vermont in 1980 and in
New Hampshire in 1991.
For thirty years, one of the foundations of
Dan's practice has been real estate title searches, closings, purchases, and
sales.
The other main focus of the practice has been estate planning
for middle-class clients, and estate administration for the estates of those
same clients.
Dan was graduated from Brown University in 1971 and
from Vermont Law School in 1980.
Thetford, Vermont, has been Dan's
home since 1972. He and his wife, Dana Grossman, raised their two daughters
there on a tree farm at the end of a dead-end road. In nearly four decades,
Dan and Dana have participated in the full range of small-town activities.
Dan has served as President of the Hanover Consumer Cooperative Society, as
Thetford School District Moderator, and as a Thetford Academy trustee. In
1990 and 1991 Dan lead the building of the 5-kilometer Woods Trail at
Thetford Academy and he produced and managed all the events on that trail
for 13 years. The trail was named after him in 2010.

- Roxanne Godfrey Eastman started work in the
office in 1991 as a school-to-work intern in her senior year of high
school. After she was graduated from Thetford Academy in 1992, she
continued to work while she completed her associates degree in paralegal
studies at Woodbury College. She has been a full-time paralegal in our
office ever since.
Roxanne's gift is the ability to manage and direct
a variety of files toward completion. Roxanne has the responsibility of
managing the flow of all of the work in our office. She does this with good
humor, equanimity, and determination. Because she never gets ruffled, she
conveys the message to clients that she want to get their business done
quickly, efficiently, and correctly.
Almost everyone in the office
lives in Thetford, and Roxanne does, too. She and her husband, Dan Eastman,
own Eastman
Automotive in Lebanon, New Hampshire. When their two sons were younger,
Roxanne was president of the Parent/Teacher Organization at Thetford
Elementary School. Now she is an active officer of the Thetford Academy
Alumni Association.

- Melissa Barker Maxwell was graduated from
Thetford Academy in 1998, and she joined us in the summer of 2000. It was
clear that Melissa had the skills and the attitude to become a legal
assistant.
Since a few years after she joined us, Melissa has been a
legal assistant who has become indispensable in the preparation of the all
the documents for real estate transactions, in preparing estate planning
documents, and in working on estate administration.
Melissa has lived
her whole life in Post Mills in Thetford. She lives there now, in the house
she grew up in, with her husband, Mike, and their daughter.
Reach
Melissa by e-mail at mm@dg123.com.
- Kristie Gray joined us as our bookkeeper in
2004 after working for a local bank and for an auction service. Kristie
grew up in northern Vermont and was graduated from Peoples Academy in
Morrisville.
Kristie handles all of our bookkeeping tasks as well as
doing the final processing for the issuance of title insurance policies.
Along with her daughter and son, Kristie lives in East Thetford.
- Markell Ripps started work here in 2010
after her graduation from Vermont Law School with two degrees, the Juris
Doctor degree and a Master of Environmental Law and Policy degree. Markell
did her undergradute work at Cornell University with a major in Natural
Resources, Law & Society.
Markell grew up in the Berkshires of
western Massachusetts. She is familiar with the tempo of small-town, rural
life. Working with our clients in real estate, estate planning, and estate
administration will make her a part of our rural valley.
Markell's
e-mail address is mr@dg123.com.
